interesting

I found this to be kind of odd, but I did figure out what caused it.

So earlier today, I was sending files across the wireless connection here, to my hard drives down stairs. I had noticed at other points that my phone would get all staticy at certain times, but could really make no sense as to why. So today, Shannon was calling when my files were transferring, and it was so busy, I couldn't even get the wireless phone to pick up. And then I realized why. Both the wireless network and the telephone share the 2.4ghz range. So using one heavily, will probably cause problems with the other.

Oh well...at least I know now.

Interesting... I usually see the phone screwing up the data connection, but not the reverse. While both operate in the 2.4 GHz range, there are about 10-12 channels in that range so they shouldn't completely interfere with each other unless...

1) They're right next to each other.or2) If your phone is Digital Spread Spectrum, kiss your data connection goodbye (will hog a lot of channels).

If neither of those apply, then... dunno. =)

Well my phone is DSS...

I think the issue was that I was already transferring data before the phone started ringing...

When it's just simple trafic (simple web browsing) and phone use, it's generally fine...only when I am a wireless bandwidth hog...
