disappointing muffins

So I made gingerbread muffins for a work potluck on Thursday...

They had a nice crust on the top, good sponginess to the insides, good smell and texture...

But no ginger wow type experience.

Even after I sprinkled in some more ginger powder and added some crystallized ginger (thanks Shannon for going to get the crystallized ginger for me).

Maybe if I got some ginger from Penzeys?

I'm bummed.

I think I'll have to try again.
