Sledding, Movie, Laundry, Bowling...not in that order.

After La Mie, we went to Bowling. With Courtney, Jen, Jen's friend, Lindsey, her fiance, Dave, Dutty, Angela and her boyfriend (?), So quite the crew, eventually. Lots of funny pictures taken. I played with some of the features of my phone (like exposure time). good times

So Saturday we did a lot of laundry. I woke up around 6:30 and started doing luandry. There was lots and lots of it. By the time Shannon woke up, the first load was just finished drying and it continued to move on. Around Noon or one we went off to buy a birthday present for Shannon's newphew and get a sled or two...

So Target, not surprisingly was very full of people....annoyingly so. I hate shopping around the holidays. We picked up the presents then looked at the sleds. Way to expensive. I don't need a brand name sled, I just want cheap molded plastic. I had remembered seeing one at a hardware store near our house, so we went there and then got ready to go sledding.

We were supposed to meet up with quite a few people at around 3:PM at a public golf course which is open in the winters for sledding. There were quite a few people there, but the only person that I knew was Dave. So we headed up the hill and went down. And repeated this several times. Yes, going down the hill is fun, but going up...yeah I kinda forgot about that part. It was a lot tougher then I remember. After about an hour out there, my socks and golves were wet, Shannon was tired, so we decided to call it a day and headed home.

We got warmed up, Shannon took a shower and I called Josh to see what Josh and Lindsay were up to and we decided to go see The Ice Harvest. So we had some time so we got ready and headed out to eat. We ended up a El Rodeo in Urbandale, and the food was ok (quick), but not memorable. The guy that brought us water and chips and salsa seemed really pissed about his place in live...like it's our fault he's working there...

It took a lot shorter then we thought it would and so we had quite a bit of time to burn until the movie. So we drove around and looked at holiday lights, and eventually headed over to Hobby Lobby and Shannon bought a few pictures frames. I can't tell you how much I dislike the Hobby Lobby. It's so crafty, and I am not. Whatever gene that someone gets when they are good at, I got the exact oppisite. And all these things are there taunting me telling me how much I suck at doing it...but Shannon likes going, so I guess...I go for her.

We headed over to the theater, and met up with Josh and Lindsay.

Now The Ice Harvest was being sold as a sort of Bad Santa type of movie...or at least a bit connected with it...Nothing at all like it. It is clearly a very dark black comedy. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Shannon was unsure...I think maybe what turned her off was more the violence...But it was good.

Afterwards, We headed to perkins for a later night snack and Chatted for a bit. Shannon had a slice of Andes Mint Pie, I, after having both of my choices for muffins be denied (they were out), had some quesidillas, and Josh and Lindsay split the appitizer sampler. I remember going to Perkins a lot when I was younger, but either they've gotten worse, or my pallette has gotten more picky, but I have trouble eating full meals there now. For a simliar price you can go to a place that isn't a chain and has better flavor. Oh well...Shannon's pie was pretty good...for the tiny smaple she gave me...

Afterwards, Shannon and I headed home, and were shortly followed by Josh and Lindsay. We drank some beer, talked watch some TV. After a bit, Josh and Lindsay headed home and we headed to bed.

Sunday...More Laundry! Before Shannon woke up and during her nap, I watched cheesy awful movies and played Civ 4.

It was a good weekend overall...although we spent a bit to much money...
