cheese, cpap, oatmeal, and things

So I just ate the sandwhich with the last of the slicable cheese in my house (swiss, I still have bleu and feta, but those are crumbles and kinda for salads). I don't know if I can follow the guideline that has me exclude cheese (high sodium). Maybe if I don't just sit down and have cheese and crackers and eat like a whole crapload? *sigh* We'll see wha ti do i guess.

Last night I adjusted my CPAP machine so it now no longer blows air over my eyes at night (drying them out an making them hurt all day). So that's good. Although it still feels really tight on there which is kind of obnoxious.

I had oatmeal for breakfast. Most instant oatmeal is high in sodium, but theyere's a Heart Healthy Quaker line that only has 4% sodium per packet and 10% potassium...so that's good.

I called the resperatory therapist that hooked me up with the CPAP machine and I told her what a pain in the ass it was, she agreed and told me that a lot of people have problems starting up with it and take it off during the night. So I guess I don't feel so bad there. She encouraged me keep using it until I had my appointment with the sleep study doctor and I will...I guess...this still isn't gonna be the way I spend the rest of my days. If the sleep study guy doens't give me the answer I want, I have a list of other people that are more accomplished in that area. Maybe an ENT guy would do me better.

Also, there is an article in todays CR Gazette (at least there is supposed to be) about my little brother and the Spelling Bee (which is next week). I would link to it on their website, but they suck and it's not there.

There is an article in the Des Moines Register about hospitals and salarys and Not for profit status. I found it interesting that the hospitals affiliated with IHS almost have twice to three times the amount of money on charitable cases that other hospitals in Iowa and surrounding regions do. And we don't pay doctor's $2 million a year either.
