The weekend
So Friday, Shannon and I went to El Aguila Real and afterwards, I went out to the Nest and hung out there while the rest of the crew there (Josh, Courtie, Angela, etc) did the whole karaoke thing. They have two choices in their sizes of beers. Pints or Quarts. So I had me a quart of Guiness and watched and sometime made fun of the karaoke going on. Some were good, some were really bad. But it was fun. There were good pictures. Shannon had to work the next morning so she didn't go...of course I had to drive her there, so...
Saturday I got up and took Shannon to work. I spent a lot of time trying to get my iPod to sync up to my music list, but because the battery is so abused, I couldn't get it to plug in more then ~2000 songs of my ~6000 song collection, before the battery would die again. Oh well. So now I detached it again from auto-sync and it's got about 1/2 the music on there again. While doing that I watched some TV and played some Civ3 while waiting for the time to pick up Shannon.
After I got her, it was about time for the game, so Shannon went for a nap and I watched the Iowa State - Iowa game. Good times.
So by the time Shannon woke up the game was almost over and I was kinda drunk. But I got my stuff together and made us burgers for dinner. A bit later, we walked down to Snookies and probably hit the place for the last time of the year (it closes Sunday).
Sunday we went to a wedding show. and it was actually kinda small, but we probably found where we were gonna get our tuxes cause they have places in both Cedar Rapids and Des Moines (where all of our tuxedo wearing people are gonna be), so that's good. We'll see how their prices are though.
For dinner, Shannon felt like going out, so we ate at Hessen Haus and had dessert at Stam Gelattarie.
Sunday evening while settling in to watch Sunday night TV, Shannon's Glass horse took a nose dive off the shelf, of it's own accord, and hit the floor. It took a chunk of the wooden floor with it, and also had it's tail, and two hind legs break off. So through the power of google I decided what kind of glue to buy, and headed off to a hardware store to buy it. Being that it was 6:30 PM on a sunday, the one on Hickman and University were closed, so I headed over to Lowes. After wandering around the store for a while, I found the glue and picked some up. I headed back and did my best to put the glass back together again. There are, however, very small pieces that I can't figure out where they were. So Hopefully after the glue dries, it'll be able to be stood up again (obviously on a much lower shelf). This really upset Shannon cause she has had it for so long, but again...I hope I did get it to get all fixed. Right now it's sitting in my pots and pans and liqour cabinet with the booze surrounding the cabinet door, so that they kitties can't mess with it, while it's drying.
So after I got it all glued back together it was pretty close to bed time, so that's where we headed.
