My liver was naughty, so I punished it.
So I left work around 2:PM and headed home to change. Brandon picked me up a little before three, and we headed towards Hessen Haus and headed towards the Des Moines Oktoberfest.
So it looked quite a bit bigger this year then last, so we parked and headed in.
They decided on some changes this year, though. And instead of Leinenkugel's and Warsteiner, it was Miller and Beck's and Warsteiner. They also no longer were selling the big mugs that I loved so much last year either. That really acutally kinda sucked. Oh well, what can you do?
So we were there about fourty-five minutes before the tapping of the golden keg, and started drinking. We each got trhough two before the tapping of the golden keg.
So they brought the golden keg up in a horse drawn bier-wagon and tapped in and started passing out free beer.
Brandon and I had quite a few free ones.
This year, apprently the herse had been sold, so they took away in an VW Micro Bus.
We had a nummy bratwurst with sauerkraut, which I am becoming a fan of (the kraut, I've always loved the brats).
Then we started talking and drinking. An old, not-so-well liked manager was there (he no longer works where we work), was there, and we talked to him for a bit. We also saw a guy named Ben who kinda looks like my boss's boss (except younger). Eventually brandon headed off to a sports bar to watch the Iowa State - Army game (we win, 28-21). So I was all alone. So I called people (Shannon (not home from work yet), Josh (On his way down), Dave (coming soon enough), The Vossinator (couldn't hear each other too well), and then Shannon again (I talked to her for about 15 minutes). I was getting kinda bummed...I don't like drinking alone (even if I was in a crowd of other people).
So I caught up to Josh and Lindsay when they showed up. I saw Deb (co-worker) too. Then Dave and Tinker showed up, followed by Dusty and Jen.
By the time they had gotten there I kinda wanted to go home and go to bed (being way drunk didn't help either). But since Brandon had been my ride, I was without one. So I started asking people to take me home. There were no takers.
Then Courtney showed up! And I asked her to take me home, and she did! Thanks Courtie!
So I got home, tried not to make a lot of noise (I still did) and tried not to wake Shannon up (I did). So I got undressed and went to bed (I even remembered to put my mask on, so I wouldn't snore).
So I woke up a little before 6, cause I heard thunder and it start to rain...and not just a drizzle but lots. So I got Shannon up and we closed the windows. I tied to go back to sleep, but it just wouldn't come back to me...so I came down here to eat. I'm still hungry. But I want pizza and we don't have any.
