2012 - Week 14 Cooking

Ok, I have been giddy all week.  With Lois announcing that her cheese would start showing up in stores this week and using spring onions, too!  Ok and then a bit later, Larry announced that he was bringing things from Cleverley Farms.  It's like the market was here.  In talking with Larry this morning he said that things were running about 5 weeks early on his farm and with that indicator, when the market actually starts up on May 5th, I'm expecting to see lots of things.

Anyways, I've got ~12 oz of chevre, some spinach, spring onions and spring garlic, and that's what I'm gonna use.

Also this week?  The Rare Affair - Iowa Meat Well Done.  Which I am also looking forward to.

  • Ramps (spring onions), bacon, Yukon gold potatoes and Fontina (or other cheese) Pizza (idea straight up stolen from George Fromaro and Centro and I told him so too)
  • Ramp and Sausage Risotto
  • Spring (Green) Garlic and bacon spaghetti
  • Penne with Ricotta and Green Garlic Sauce
  • Frittata with Spring Garlic, Spring Onions and Chevre
  • And just for a change of pace...Bratwurst, with neither garlic nor onions in it.
  • Tuna Noodle Casserole (p18 Cook's Country February / March 2012) (Delivered to Chris and Holly)
