2012 - Week 9 Cooking Results

Roasted Chicken Thighs and mashed potatoes

Didn't get a chance to make this.  We went to the Godfather instead.

Pounded chicken sandwiches with prosciutto

So I got this special Italian Sausage through secret sources.  So I cooked it up in water, then sliced it up then finished it up in a pan, to get a nice crust.  Then ate some separately and then put the rest on the chicken sandwiches.  The sausage itself was fennel forward, but not so strong that you couldn't taste the quality pork that was in it.  Quite a beautiful thing, and I hope it becomes available on a regular basis from La Quercia.  I have other uses in mind for it.  So the Chicken and the Italian sausage was very good.

Pork Burgers

Some local pork (Crooked Gap Farm), buried in the back of the freezer, brought back to life and made for a very delicious quick meal.

Lamb Sausage Pizza

Icelandic lamb from Hedgeapple Farm, and then I thought, hey, I haven't used the La Quercia Prosciutto yet, So I layereed it on the pizza.  It was super-extra savory.  I think all parties (Joseph was over to), enjoyed it.

Pork Sausage and Eggs

I believe this pork sausage is also from Crooked Gap Farm, the problem with the meat from the small producers, they're labeled from the meat packer.  Anyways, it was delicious and I made quickly, before we headed off to see The Artist.

Buttermilk Pancakes

Nom, Nom...used up the leftover buttermilk from the previous week, added a bit of milk to get the amount I needed.
