So, I've made two batches of strawberry ice cream (one without the ice cream maker, testing a theory, that totally failed) and maybe I should just consider the first batch of ice cream practice...
Anyways I've got a new method going right now, from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home. This is not custard based, nor done exactly like the recipe said (really, gallon freezer bags?). But the next batch will be closer. Anyways, it should be frozen now, but the dark chocolate and peppermint ice cream base tasted very good. So we'll see.
