2014 - Week 11 Cooking Results

This week was pretty bad.  I started off ill, then cramming in as much as work as possible.  A scheduled work thing went way longer than it should've, I worked on Saturday, and I have to work tonight too.  All in all I'm over worked, a bit time.  Later in the week Shannon comes down with the sickness that I had, so we had to exit out of dinner plans at Le Jardin.  It makes us both sad to miss, but since both of our tastes have been muted, it didn't make a ton of sense to move forward with going out, when we won't enjoy it.  Maybe we'll get out next week.  I was not pleased as I resorted to going out twice this week, because I was so tired I didn't feel like doing my own thing (once was because I left work at 10:30 PM)

Grilled Cheese (Birthday + art class = quick dinner)

At the advice of the one of the fine people at The Cheese Shop, I used some Ossau Iraty and some country italian and a bit of peppadew jam.  It makes for a really good grilled cheese.  A good and tasty meal, before Shannon went off to her art class and I ended up working from home.

Chicken Larb

I skipped a step, and just bought ground chicken, Even so it worked out, except the cabbage.  The cabbage was too thick and made it tough to eat.   Maybe I should've gone further into the cabbage, but seriously, I would've prefered it on shredded cabbage.

Mexican-Style Chicken with Penne

This wasn't spicy enough.  Even after adding more chipotle, it was still a little too little.
