Sausage

Bacon and Cheddar, good things.

BLT

The tomatoes were starting to go, so I grabbed some of the cherry tomatoes and sliced them for adding to the sandwich. That plus hook’s 3 year, mayo, bacon and a sourdough bread. Good Things.

Eggs, Tomato and Bacon Scramble

Chopped up a tomato added that after the bacon was almost done, then let the eggs fill in the space. Pretty good.

Skillet Tortellini with Sausage and Cherry Tomatoes

This is so easy to put together and with the fresh cherry tomatoes, good things.

Brazilian Chicken and Rice

Easy to put together. bought a new spice grinder for the purpose of grinding annatto. The one I had before is more ore less basically useless. I added a bit of extra water, to control the rice a bit more, and everything really cooked up as expected. As I’m not quite sure what a Brazilian flavor profile is like, i’m not sure what else to add to this, but I did add a couple of dashes of hot sauce for my own bowl. It was good, easy to do and has lots of leftovers.

Lamb Burgers with Corn with Cherry Tomatoes, Ricotta Salata

In trying to get that iron in my diet, lamb and beef are around the same, so why not do that?. Good things. I made a side salad and used feta instead of the Ricotta. Everything came together pretty well and I was happy. The combination of the tomatoes and the corn with some fat and acid, was quite good.

I made my first trip down to the farmer’s market, since I went to the hospital in June. It was nice to get there early enough to avoid the general ruckus, but still feel the presence of others. I even didn’t have my headphones on for most of it. I picked up a few things, ate some breakfast and then headed home. It was pressing my abilities a little but I got through without feeling faint, which is a positive. I have been feeling a lot more normal and with the normal amount of energy.

Sausage

Bacon and Cheddar, is what it is. Good stuffs.

Pork Burgers

Mixed with a bit of the Momofuku Tingly seasoned salt, good things.

BLT

I was thinking of BLTs as I saw pictures of people’s tomatoes come in. I ordered some through the food coop, and they apparently didn’t drop off their crop, lucky for me, Blue Gate had some extra, so we could have some Saturday night. I fried off some bacon, used some bread from the coop (Whole Grain Sourdough from Fairfield), a good slicer and some arugula. A bit of cheese and a bit of mayo and you got yourself a good sandwich.

For dessert, we had a Goodnow Farms Peru Ucayali 70% bar. Quite good.

Spicy Peanut Summer Roll Noodles

Nice sauce, served with the shrimp and the noodles. Good meal.

Pasta with Rosemary and Pancetta Sauce

Reads recipe, thinks, I should shred the parm. I proceeded to forget about this and just served it with the rosemary and bacon. Silly Sammy.

Baked Pasta with Sausage

I made some minor adjustments to use what I had, I then had to expand into another baking dish. Even so, it came out a nice sauce and good dish, and because it wasn’t that hot this past Sunday it wasn’t to bad. Good meal.

Sausage

Crooked gap, I don’t remember which one, I’ll figure it out next week.

Mortadella Grilled Cheese (Yes really)

So Darren suggested a different cheese then the one I originally used, which I had already unwrapped, so I used the one he suggested which…I can’t remember the name, but this was also good.

Hamburgers

Hooks 3 year cheddar, Crooked Gap beef, good things.

Scrambled Eggs and Hash Browns

I was craving hash browns for some reason, and for whatever reason I think I can make them for lunch while I work from home, but that doesn’t really seem that reasonable. So dinner!

Baked Pasta with Sausage

Delayed until Sunday.

Hot Honey Chicken Broccoli with Spicy Soy Noodles

I had to trade out one of the spicy soy noodles, with a Tingly Chili. I used some Blue Gate broccoli, and this worked out well. Enjoyable, not to hard to do.

2023 - Week 29 Cooking Results

Sausage

All Pork hot dogs have entered the room. All Pork hot dogs have been consumed.

Baked Potatoes

For the hash, I bought way to many potatoes so this seem like a low effort way to consume them. Baked, fried bacon, easy meal.

Pasta

Rao’s sauce that was picked up at Costco, made for a nice shortcut, though I did add sausage, onions, peppers. I meant to add diced tomatoes but opened the wrong can so I added some sauce and then deiced tomatoes and some more seasoning. Pretty good meal.

Sloppy Sammy’s

Good things.

Kung Pao Chicken

Simple to put together, simple to cook, fast dinner.

Chana Makhani

Delayed! I was going to make this Friday, but I had a bit of work to do around dinner time, so Shannon brought home dinner.
