So on Saturday there were a lot of storms in Central Iowa and a lot of tornado touch downs.
On my way home today, a new storm started and by the time I got home it was raining pretty hard. At the stop light on 44th, I saw the light reset it self because the area had a power blip (also evidence by me having to reset a bunch of clocks and re-turn on my computers).
After about an hour or so, I went to look out side and there was a small river flowing down both sides of my street. So me being the silly person I am, decided to drive around in it. So I drove over to beaver up to grand and over to 38th and back home...splashing through big puddles along the way. After that I decided that I shouldn't abuse my car so much so I parked and went back inside.
One of the things I did get to see...was through my skylight in the bathroom upstairs I got to watch small pieces of hail fall from the sky and shatter against the skylight.
I got to talk to Ben tonight. And we decided that it's probably not the best for him to come down this weekend (since I'll be gone for most of it) and he'll come down for my house warming party (probably some time in June). I'm pumped to see him. It's been awhile and it'll be good to see him again.
So a few days ago, I tried to get ahold of my friend Shannon, out in Vegas. I knew that she was moving and that she was going to get a new phone number, but I tried the numbers that I had and she wasn't availble at either. I hope she's doing all right. I know that she was going through a bit of a rough patch with her life and recent events.
So Jen was kinda stuck at work for awhile cause she didn't want to leave while the sirens were going off. Apprently a lot of streets (including the interstates) were at least partially covered with water. She said that she saw a Jeep get stalled out in the water...I'm glad she got home safe.
