Movie Night

So Shannon Comes over, and we head out and go to Blockbuster. On the way there, my gas light came on. So we got three movies, headed over to get gas, and headed over to The Pizza Oven in Johnston. We had a grilled chicken, bacon and Alfredo sauce pizza. It was quite good.

So we headed back to my place and watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which Shannon hadn't seen before. This was my second time watching it, and it was pretty good the second time around. I still think it is an interesting concept, to be able to erase someone from your memories. But I don't think that it would be a good thing, because the pleasure and pain of the past life is a large part of what we are now.

We then popped in the movie Saved!. Which is about how extreme and obnoxious some born again Christians can be. I found it quite funny, because, well, it is how funny what their beliefs can make them out to be. There was a bumper sticker in the movie that said, "Jesus loves you. But everyone else thinks your an asshole." I thought this was really telling. Now most poeple this just doesn't apply to. But there are a lot of people that are on a high horse and need to come down and just look around. Nobody is perfect. Nobody is without "sin". To me, love thy neighbor means that you should love them, faults an all. Not look down on them cause they do things you don't agree with. The movie was funny, with a serious bent. The idea of a Jewish girl going to a Christian school just struck me as very funny.

So it was around 11, and Shannon wanted to know what the episode of Enterprise was playing, so I checked, and it was one that she had seen before. So we popped in the third movie of the night, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. So this one was quite a bit slower and less funny then the other two. The new Dumbledore was not near as good as the one in the first two movies, and yes I know that he is no longer with us. But about half way through the movie, neither of us could stay awake anymore so we called it a night.

So I did get the paper, well two copies of the paper, and there is an article, with a couple of pictures in today's Des Moines Register. There's also a big article about the JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes.

So since it's so nice out today, Shannon and I are going to for a walk, either by the trails by her Apartment or by Gray's Lake.
