Pat's Wine Party

So we headed to Chris and Pat's. Pat was throwing his second wine party (this time on a weekend night, rather then during the week). I had Shannon drive (since she doesn't like to drink) and also so I didn't have to worry about driving home.

So I tried probably 10 wines over the night. Here are the highlights:

Shingleback Shiraz
Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse
Marques de Caceres Vendinia Seleccionada
and a wine from the Medoc region (it had a lot of words in it)

The lowlight of the night was this wine, with a pretty cool label from Argintina, that was...well...my first reaction was to spit it back into the glass. I couldn't tell if it had gone bad or if it was supposed to taste that way.

As the night wore on, we talked about many things, a short game of Scene It was played. And the night ended, at least for Shannon and I, after a conversation about philosophy, where, after noticing a book by Ayn Rynd, I let it slip (well not so much as slip as said outright), that I thought that she wasn't much of a philosopher, and people use her as an excuse to be self centered.

Pat did make a wide variety of yummy appitizers (bacon wrapped shrimp (he did all the work of putting it together), beef rolls, these ham and cream cheese things, and etc). I had a quite a few things. Yes... I know, probably has a lot of salt :-P

Anyways, we headed home and went to bed.
