Jordan Creek Animal Hospital Christmas Party

So we got ready, and headed out over the fairly new snow (it had stopped falling a few hours earlier). We headed over to the owner of the hospital's house and had appitizers and drinks and conversation there. The house was pretty good and the short part of it that I saw was very nice. The kitchen was great...I would love a kitchen like that...but I think it would probably take up most of the space of my kitchen and dining room in my house.

I had some decent wine, some good snacks and felt fairly uncomfortable around all these people I didn't know in a strange place...But, you know, you gotta do it sometimes. Shannon and I, for the most part, stayed over in a corner and kept to ourselves...I think Shannon could tell that I was uncomfortable.

Eventually we headed over to the Resturant, which wasn't that far away. We went to Fire Creek Grill, with all the other people. We headed in and brought the loot that Shannon bought in a black garbage bag, along with all the other people. It was quite a nice dinner, not great. The two highlights of the meal for me was the Creamy Garlic dressing and the chocolate cake...the cake was really good. The bread, meh, the meat, ok (I've had better and I've had much worse), the salad mix was pretty good. But still, can't complain to much or give a full review, since usually the quality of food for large parties is less then it would be for and individual dinner....at least that has been my experience in the past. But certainly a very nice place to take people for a company dinner.

So then the games came. They had two...First they handed out a list of people and then they went though the bags of loot that people bought (everyone had a chunk of cash to spend on themselves and put in in the bag). So you look at the items bought and then make a guess as to who bought what. It was kinda interesting to see what was bought, and I guess it clued people into the inner workings of the people. It was kinda intersting cause a lot of people bought shoes and vacuums...so it was just funny pulling out another set of shoes or another vacuum.

The next game they had collected a list of 3 things that people wouldn't know about you and then picked 1 of the three to say to the group and then people were to guess who's was what. It was interesting too...and fun. Shannon did OK on both games, but not good enough to win an additional prize.

Next the vets handed out gift baskets to everyone. And then it was about time to go (11 or so).

It was a lot of fun...certainly more then I would expect that my company would get me...or any company that I've worked for. Kinda develops a cetain Family atmosphere that I think they are trying to foster there...I guess it does go a long way to create loyalty to the company.
