37 Minutes, Game Night, and Cheese Puffs

So Friday night, I left work a bit early (ok a lot early) and headed to Cedar Rapids to see my youngest brother Isaac in Alice in Wonderland at Kennedy High School. Since I left as early I did, I was able to have a nice meal with my parents (Isaac was already at the theater, Joseph was at work). My mom made burgers and a salad, but kept saying it wasn't gourmet enough, and I tried to tell her that it's not like I eat like that everyday...I'm apparently too lazy to cook like that everyday. Anyways it was a good dinner. Most of the time it feels good to have mama cook for you.

We headed down there and saw the play. It was pretty good. I laughed a few times and Isaac did a good job. I think he was probably one of the better performers up there. At least in my biased opinion. Afterwards, I sat and chated with the parents, and when the Mad Hatter (Isaac) was done signing autographs, he came over and chatted a bit.

I headed home. So about 4 hours of driving, for 37 minutes of play...kinda funny.

So I spent large portions of Saturday preparing for and making these wonderful gruyere based cheese puffs. They went over very well, although making the dough made my wrists hurt. I made a test batch and was happy with them.

So we had a game night last night. The cheese puffs went over very well. Val brought over some brownie cake type things that were very good and Proctor brought over some granola and these wonderful caramel cookies (from CostCo). It was a nice night. Simpson's Clue, Disney's Scene It, Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture 2 and Carcassonne. Now unlike when I played with my family and relatives, this was actually fairly vicious, which, I think, made it more fun. Proctor (my boss) said that he loved the game so much that he planed to go out today to get a copy of it.

So good times, good times. thanks everyone for coming out!
